Groovy King Col­lege­Boy Jesse in col­lab­o­ra­tion with Afrobeats artiste The Dou­ble King will be host­ing a Cul­ture Car­a­van on Feb­ru­ary 8.

This event will be streamed live on the Dou­ble King’s so­cial me­dia plat­forms in a bid to share Trinidad and To­ba­go’s cul­ture to his fan base in Cen­tral Africa and France.

“The Dou­ble King and his man­age­ment team came up with the idea for the Car­a­van,” said Col­lege Boy Jesse.

“The in­ten­tion was to take the mu­sic and vibe to the streets and doorsteps of the peo­ple. The aim is to high­light and share that there is in­ter­est of our cul­ture from the rest of the world, in par­tic­u­lar Cen­tral Africa and France of which the Dou­ble King rep­re­sents. And to al­so spread this new fu­sion of cul­tures through­out the na­tion.”

The Afrobeats artiste who vis­it­ed Trinidad last year col­lab­o­rat­ed with the Groovy King on a sin­gle.

“A Boutouma came to me from the Dou­ble King a few months ago,” he added.

“I fell in love with the con­cept as I have al­ways been an artiste whose in­ter­est has been to push our cul­ture to new ter­ri­to­ries.

“Ten days lat­er we com­plet­ed my cre­ative con­tri­bu­tion to the col­lab­o­ra­tion and to­day this song is pack­aged with an of­fi­cial mu­sic video and en­er­getic live per­for­mances.”

A Boutouma trans­lates to ‘com­ing to­geth­er to en­joy’.

“When The Dou­ble King vis­it­ed our shores, he fell in love with the cul­ture of Trinidad and To­ba­go,” the en­ter­tain­er added.

“He be­lieved that it is some­thing that he would like to share to his home. This then mo­ti­vat­ed him and his team to part­ner with us to cre­ate a project to fuse cul­tures with the in­tent of high­light­ing So­ca mu­sic to new ter­ri­to­ries.”

The artistes have been per­form­ing their col­lab­o­ra­tion at var­i­ous events for the car­ni­val sea­son.

The car­a­van starts at James Lane Mal­abar, Ari­ma from 3 p.m. and moves through Ari­ma en­route to the par­ty cap­i­tal Port of Spain.

Cor­po­rate Trinidad has al­so part­nered with the car­a­van and event tick­et and oth­er give­aways will be pro­vid­ed to cit­i­zens of Trinidad dur­ing this his­toric cul­tur­al ven­ture.

Col­lege­Boy Jesse, is the reign­ing In­ter­na­tion­al Groovy So­ca Monarch. The Cunu­pia artiste start­ed per­form­ing at the very ten­der age of sev­en. Through­out the years he has copped sev­er­al ti­tles and gained recog­ni­tion as one of the Caribbean’s most elec­tri­fy­ing per­form­ers.
