Groovy King CollegeBoy Jesse in collaboration with Afrobeats artiste The Double King will be hosting a Culture Caravan on February 8.
This event will be streamed live on the Double King’s social media platforms in a bid to share Trinidad and Tobago’s culture to his fan base in Central Africa and France.
“The Double King and his management team came up with the idea for the Caravan,” said College Boy Jesse.
“The intention was to take the music and vibe to the streets and doorsteps of the people. The aim is to highlight and share that there is interest of our culture from the rest of the world, in particular Central Africa and France of which the Double King represents. And to also spread this new fusion of cultures throughout the nation.”
The Afrobeats artiste who visited Trinidad last year collaborated with the Groovy King on a single.
“A Boutouma came to me from the Double King a few months ago,” he added.
“I fell in love with the concept as I have always been an artiste whose interest has been to push our culture to new territories.
“Ten days later we completed my creative contribution to the collaboration and today this song is packaged with an official music video and energetic live performances.”
A Boutouma translates to ‘coming together to enjoy’.
“When The Double King visited our shores, he fell in love with the culture of Trinidad and Tobago,” the entertainer added.
“He believed that it is something that he would like to share to his home. This then motivated him and his team to partner with us to create a project to fuse cultures with the intent of highlighting Soca music to new territories.”
The artistes have been performing their collaboration at various events for the carnival season.
The caravan starts at James Lane Malabar, Arima from 3 p.m. and moves through Arima enroute to the party capital Port of Spain.
Corporate Trinidad has also partnered with the caravan and event ticket and other giveaways will be provided to citizens of Trinidad during this historic cultural venture.
