The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) has announced a reduction in water production at the Point Lisas Desalination Plant, affecting customers in Central and South West Trinidad.

Due to raw water quality issues caused by algae buildup at the plant's intake area, production has been cut back to 30 mgd.
