Relatives of 23-year-old Ronald Ramlogan have confirmed that his decomposing body was found in the Heights of Guanapo on Wednesday.
Family members went to the Forensic Science Centre in St James yesterday, where they identified his body.
Police believe he was murdered elsewhere and his body dumped in that area.
Members of the Shamsudeen Ayube-led Hunters Search and Rescue Team found the body around 8.35 pm in the Heights of Guanapo. The clothes matched what Ramlogan was wearing when he left home.
Ramlogan, of St Mary’s Village, Moruga, was last seen by his relatives on January 2. He told them he was going to a beach near the Moruga Police Station. Relatives said he was with a relative of Shumba James, who was killed by the police last year. However, they were told that Ramlogan dropped off in Princes Town.
Officers of the Homcide Bureau Region II are investigating.
