Police are investigating the robbery and assault of a 48-year-old deliveryman who was attacked while offloading goods at a mini-mart in Santa Cruz on Monday afternoon. The incident occurred around 1.30 pm at Lynch Avenue, Pipiol Road, when two men approached the victim as he was making a delivery.
The suspects pulled him from the truck, threw him to the ground, and demanded money. The deliveryman handed over $900 in sales before one of the bandits struck him with a firearm.
The assailants then searched the truck and found a black bag containing $17,500, which they stole before fleeing the scene. The deliveryman sustained injuries from the assault.
Police from the Santa Cruz station responded and are continuing investigations. Officers are expected to review nearby CCTV footage as part of their efforts to identify and locate the suspects.
