To­ba­go House of As­sem­bly Chief Sec­re­tary An­cil Den­nis has staunch­ly de­nied ru­mours that he has im­preg­nat­ed at least three women at the same time.

In a post to his Face­book page yes­ter­day, Chief Sec­re­tary Den­nis said he doesn’t usu­al­ly re­spond pub­licly, “to the many ru­mours and bla­tant mis­chief as­so­ci­at­ed with my name be­cause I’ve grown ac­cus­tom (sic) and im­mune to the ma­li­cious­ness and wicked­ness of some in this lit­tle space.”

How­ev­er, Den­nis point­ed out that peo­ple he re­ferred to as vipers were “spew­ing with cer­tain­ty of a gy­nae­col­o­gist or pa­ter­ni­ty clin­i­cian that I got 3-5 women (un­of­fi­cial es­ti­mate) preg­nant, all at the same time. I even heard ‘they’ clashed at my of­fice yes­ter­day, Mau­ry kin­da stuff.”

Den­nis, who is the Peo­ple’s Na­tion­al Move­ment’s Buc­coo/Mt Pleas­ant can­di­date in the De­cem­ber 6 elec­tion, added, “To the liars, bac­cha­nal­ists (sic), and ped­dling gos­sipers who car­ry these sto­ries ver­i­ly with­out re­gard for its ve­rac­i­ty; your ac­tions are af­fect­ing re­al lives. And while you may see me as your po­lit­i­cal op­po­nent and fair game for your evil agen­da, please take in­to con­sid­er­a­tion the in­no­cent peo­ple and their fam­i­lies dragged in­to your mess.”

He ad­dressed one case in par­tic­u­lar, say­ing, “All al­le­ga­tions of me im­preg­nat­ing (name called) or any oth­er fe­male are com­plete­ly false.”

He al­so in­di­cat­ed that the re­ports of a “bas­sa bas­sa” among sev­er­al preg­nant women at his of­fice were al­so false.

“Please stop!!!” he said.

Ac­com­pa­ny­ing the post were screen­shots of what seemed to be a What­sApp con­ver­sa­tion be­tween him­self and one of the women al­leged­ly in­volved. In it, she asked him to do what he could to de­nounce the ru­mours that he was the fa­ther of her ba­by, adding it had af­fect­ed her so much that she had “fall­en ill.”

Den­nis al­so at­tached sev­er­al oth­er screen grabs of so­cial me­dia post­ings by peo­ple who were spread­ing the ru­mours about him.

It is not the first time as­pects of Den­nis’s per­son­al life have been raised in the pub­lic do­main.

Dur­ing the Jan­u­ary 2021 THA cam­paign, ru­mours that his be­long­ings had been thrown out­side in garbage bags resur­faced through Pro­gres­sive De­mo­c­ra­t­ic Pa­tri­ots deputy leader Far­ley Au­gus­tine.

This was the sec­ond time in less than 12 hours that the PNM had to deal with what it is call­ing dirty tac­tics it at­trib­uted to the PDP.

Dur­ing a meet­ing in Belle Gar­den on Thurs­day night, PNM To­ba­go Coun­cil leader al­so ad­dressed the leak of videos and au­dio clips con­nect­ed to Par­latu­vi­er/L’Anse Four­mi/Spey­side can­di­date Fran­ka Cord­ner.

“We have seen all sorts about Fran­ka Cord­ner. So we have to ask our­selves the ques­tion, why the at­tacks? Is it that she is plac­ing the op­po­nent in the elec­toral dis­trict un­der pres­sure? What re­al­ly is go­ing on?” she asked.

David­son-Ce­les­tine said peo­ple need­ed to ask them­selves who was be­hind the “noise” be­ing di­rect­ed at Cord­ner.

“To­day, I had a very long con­ver­sa­tion with Fran­ka to get a bet­ter un­der­stand­ing of what is go­ing on,” she said.

David­son-Ce­les­tine said that in di­a­logue with Cord­ner about this sit­u­a­tion, Cord­ner said deputy PDP leader Far­ley Au­gus­tine had told her what was go­ing to hap­pen. His warn­ing in­clud­ed the plan of at­tack.

“Try­ing of course to get in­to Fran­ka’s mind and to play with her mind,” she said.

David­son-Ce­les­tine said those at­tacks on young, fe­male can­di­dates are com­ing from PDP leader Wat­son Duke. She said both Duke and Au­gus­tine have no re­spect for the peo­ple and would try to bring down any­one in their path.
