Thir­ty-four-year-old David Brem­nor has been charged with the mur­der of 71-year-old Raphael Vial­va. He has al­so been charged with the at­tempt­ed mur­der and wound­ing of two oth­ers. The ac­cused is ex­pect­ed to ap­pear be­fore the Port- of -Spain Mag­is­trates Court on April 28th.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports, on  April 20th of­fi­cers at­tached to the West End Po­lice Sta­tion re­spond­ed to a re­port of an as­sault at Field Trace, Wa­ter­wheel Road, Diego Mar­tin. 

Dur­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tions, of­fi­cers were told that at around 2 am three peo­ple were al­leged­ly chopped and sus­tained in­juries. The vic­tims were tak­en to the St James Med­ical Com­plex, where Raphael Vial­va suc­cumbed to his in­juries. A fe­male vic­tim was treat­ed for stab wounds to her up­per body and a male vic­tim was treat­ed and sub­se­quent­ly dis­charged.
 
Brem­nor of Ibis Dri­ve, Diego Mar­tin and Field Trace, Blue Basin, Diego Mar­t­in­was was ar­rest­ed by of­fi­cers at­tached to the West­ern Di­vi­sion rel­a­tive to the en­quiry and was de­tained at the West End Po­lice Sta­tion.

On April 27th dur­ing a meet­ing with the Di­rec­tor of Pub­lic Pros­e­cu­tions, Mr. Roger Gas­pard SC, of­fi­cers were ad­vised to charge the ac­cused.
 
The in­ves­ti­ga­tion was su­per­vised by In­spec­tors Lynch, Jones and Le­gal Of­fi­cer In­sp Mon­groo, all of the Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions Re­gion One with as­sis­tance from of­fi­cers at­tached to the West­ern Di­vi­sion.
