Po­lice of­fi­cers are on the scene of a dou­ble mur­der in Chi­napoo, Mor­vant.

Res­i­dents told Guardian Me­dia that they heard rapid gun­fire at about 3 am, at Crowe Trace, Laven­tille Road.

How­ev­er, the bod­ies of two men were on­ly dis­cov­ered at the break of dawn.

One of the men is yet to be iden­ti­fied, while the oth­er is said to be Dwayne Dan­gler, of Wal­lace Street.  Po­lice said fam­i­ly mem­bers con­firmed Dan­gler’s iden­ti­fy.  He re­port­ed­ly was iden­ti­fied by his tat­toos.

Po­lice said there are sev­er­al spent shells on the scene be­lieved to be from high-pow­ered weapons.

In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing.

The mur­der count for 2023 thus far is 65.

This is the fourth killing for Feb­ru­ary.

Mor­vant's killing was al­so record­ed as the sec­ond dou­ble mur­der to take place in less than 24 hours.
