Homi­cide de­tec­tives are in­ves­ti­gat­ing a dou­ble mur­der that oc­curred at a bar in Ste Madeleine last night.

The de­ceased are Owen Danzell, 47, of Co­coyea Vil­lage and Ter­rence Rawl­ins, 43, of Plai­sance Park and Princes Town.

Po­lice re­ports say both men were lim­ing with an­oth­er man, a Lance Cor­po­ral, around 8:40 pm in front of Red Chief Bar at Mt Stew­art Vil­lage, when a ve­hi­cle pulled up.

Two men wear­ing face masks and car­ry­ing with firearms came out of the ve­hi­cle and be­gan shoot­ing at them.

They all ran.

Ac­cord­ing to re­ports, when the solid­er re­turned, he found Danzell ly­ing on the side of the road while Rawl­ins was found down a precipice. Both men died at the scene.

Asp Jaikaran, Asp Per­sad, In­sp Ram­lo­gan, Sgt Elvin and Sgt Deo were among of­fi­cers from the Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions Re­gion 3 and South­ern Di­vi­sion who vis­it­ed the scene.
