A Petit Valley man was robbed during the early hours of Sunday in Woodbrook, after a man dressed in women’s clothing jumped into his car as he waited at the traffic intersection.
Police said the 29-year-old victim, of Simeon Road, Petit Valley, was driving his red car east along Tragarete Road, Woodbrook, when he stopped at the red light near Mario’s Pizzeria, Cipriani Boulevard.
The victim claimed that while waiting at the intersection, a man dressed in a black dress and black wig jumped into his front passenger seat after finding the door unlocked and placed an ice pick to his neck. The suspect instructed the victim to drive onto Victoria Avenue and stop near Tranquility Government Secondary School.
The suspect then took $200 in cash along with the victim’s gold chain, valued at $3,500, before jumping out of the car and running towards Lapeyrose Cemetery where he climbed the wall and disappeared.
Investigations led police officers to St Vincent Street, Tunapuna, where they arrested the suspect.
