A Laven­tille man had to be treat­ed at hos­pi­tal on Thurs­day, af­ter he was shot in the arm whilst dri­ving through East­ern Quar­ry, Laven­tille.

The vic­tim, who lives at Thoma­sine Street, Laven­tille, was re­port­ed­ly dri­ving his Volk­swa­gen Pas­sat along Readymix Pri­vate Road, East­ern Quar­ry, Laven­tille, around 12.15 pm.

It was al­leged that as he stopped and was re­vers­ing, an armed man clad in a green jer­sey and green ban­dana cov­er­ing his face knocked on the dri­ver’s side win­dow, while si­mul­ta­ne­ous­ly pulling a gun from his waist.

Re­fus­ing to stop, the vic­tim re­port­ed­ly drove off as loud ex­plo­sions were heard.

The vic­tim was shot in the right arm and drove him­self to the Port-of-Spain Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal where he was treat­ed and dis­charged in a sta­ble con­di­tion.
