Employees of the Drugs Sou Sou (DSS) were robbed of more than $300,000 in cash on Thursday evening.
Denisha Ramirez, 32, of Circular Road, Peytonville, a nurse with the North Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA) who is also a bookkeeper for the DSS, told police that at about 6.30 pm she and her brother, Vernon Ramirez, 34, of Nuts Drive, Race Course Road, Carapo, Arima, were robbed as they were leaving the Trincity Mall through the south eastern exit.
Near the Creative Nail Spa Vernon was approached by a man who snatched a black duffle bag from him that contained $325,000 collected for the DSS.
Vernon attempted to fight off the thief but he managed to escape in a red station wagon with the registration number PDR 1138.
Investigations are continuing.
