Progressive Democratic Patriots political leader Watson Duke is mourning the death of his father, Wadsworth Duke, who died at the age of 91 yesterday.
In a Facebook post, Duke described his father’s life as one of wisdom, strength, and honour, and said the lessons he left behind will continue to guide his children.
“A life well lived, Dad … and a legacy of wisdom you’ve left behind having lived 91 years plus,” Duke said.
“Rest now in peace, but keep your ear tuned for the sound of the trumpet. For when the angels announce the first resurrection, I know I will meet you in the air.”
He added that he will carry his father’s name with pride. “I will carry your name Duke with honour, living in the light of the lessons you taught and the strength you passed on to me and my other siblings.”
