Pro­gres­sive De­mo­c­ra­t­ic Pa­tri­ots po­lit­i­cal leader Wat­son Duke is mourn­ing the death of his fa­ther, Wadsworth Duke, who died at the age of 91 yes­ter­day.

In a Face­book post, Duke de­scribed his fa­ther’s life as one of wis­dom, strength, and ho­n­our, and said the lessons he left be­hind will con­tin­ue to guide his chil­dren.

“A life well lived, Dad … and a lega­cy of wis­dom you’ve left be­hind hav­ing lived 91 years plus,” Duke said.

“Rest now in peace, but keep your ear tuned for the sound of the trum­pet. For when the an­gels an­nounce the first res­ur­rec­tion, I know I will meet you in the air.”

He added that he will car­ry his fa­ther’s name with pride. “I will car­ry your name Duke with ho­n­our, liv­ing in the light of the lessons you taught and the strength you passed on to me and my oth­er sib­lings.”
