Arranger Duvone Stewart secured a historic sweep of the small, medium and large National Panorama titles after the heavily favoured bp Renegades repeated as the large band champions at the Queen’s Park Savannah, Port-of-Spain, on Sunday morning, while Pan Elders secured their sixth consecutive medium title.

Two days earlier, the Defence Force band, playing another Stewart arrangement, won the Small Band category in San Fernando, making Stewart the first ever arranger to win the small, medium and large conventional band titles in one season.

Pan Trinbago president Beverley Ramsey Moore had promised Saturday's final would be dynamic based on requests made by bands leading up to the final.

Confetti and pyrotechnics were favoured by some, while a bit of theatre was added at times.

None more so than Renegades, who started their title defence with a skit involving Stewart having his belongings placed in a garbage bag by his lover (portrayed by Kimmy Stoute-Robinson), who was upset that he had more time to arrange pan music than their relationship.

It set the tone for a measured performance of Farmer Nappy's 'Hookin Meh' by the Charlotte Street-based band, with the transition to Densye Plummer's Nah Leaving combined with a final twist seeing Stewart revealing his tuxedo to the tune of Here Comes The Bride, with his lover returning to embrace him in a wedding dress, to complete the story arc.

Renegades scored 288 points to win the crown.

While Renegades were favoured, they were also closely pursued by Desperadoes, as the gap between the two bands was just three points. However, second, third and fourth place were all separated by a point each.

Desperadoes also put together a stellar effort with the opening performance of the large category, setting off the fireworks early with their take of Nailah Blackman's Iron Love. The energetic set, which was matched by an exuberant Blackman trying her hand at flagwoman duties, earned them second place with 285 points.

Trinidad All Stars opted for a far more traditional set piece for their spin on Nadia Batson's So Long and instead focused building a classy set, which gained one of the great reactions of the night for their incorporation of Arrow's Long Time into the set. Batson, like Blackman, served as flagwoman during the performance. They scored 284 points for their effort.

Shell Invaders finished fourth with their version of Farmer Nappy's 2019 hit song.

Republic Bank Exodus' change of song to Kees Dieffenthaller's road march contender Savannah Grass did not elevate them up the standings, as they tied for ninth with Tropical Angel Harps.

Earlier, Pan Elders' domination of the medium category was sealed by a rousing performance of Scrunter's The Will.

Katzenjammers placed second, with a spirited version of Shadow's Stranger while Couva Joylanders took third with their take on Fire in the Area.

Several bands paid tribute to the Mighty Shadow, Ken “Professor” Philmore and Winston “De Original De Fosto” Scarborough during their presentations. During the break between the categories, tokens were also handed over to relatives of the three late cultural icons by Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley, Minister of Culture Dr Nyan Gadsby-Dolly and Pan Trinbago president Ramsey Moore.
