A 25-year-old Arouca man was lured into a robbery in Santa Cruz, by a man he met on the Grindr app, early on Monday morning.
Police said the man met the stranger on the app and agreed to meet in-person at Sun Valley.
The man drove his grey Mitsubishi Lancer to the area around 12.45 am when he was confronted by two men who beat him before stealing his cellphone, $50 in cash and his car keys.
The bandits then escaped in the man’s car.
Officers of the San Juan CID were on patrol in the area and took the man to hospital where he was treated.
Police believe where they found the victim is not the exact location where the robbery took place
However investigators said due to the extent of injuries, the man was unable to provide a report as officers could not locate the exact scene of the robbery up to Monday morning.
