Both ministers in the Ministry of Education have sent condolences to the family of 15-year-old Videsh Dookran, whose body was found in an abandoned building over the weekend (on Saturday, October 8).
The police believe an altercation may have led to the murder of the Form Three student at Ste Madeleine Secondary School.
On Sunday afternoon, acting on an anonymous tip, police went to an area behind the Classic Pluck Shop along Cipero Road, Golconda, where they found Videsh Dookran’s body.
The youngster had left the family home on Saturday at 2 pm, to visit a relative in the village. He never returned home.
Minister of Education, Dr Nyan Gadsby-Dolly, and Minister in the Ministry of Education, Lisa Morris-Julian, extended “deepest condolences to the bereaved family of Videsh Dookran”, in a brief statement released in the Ministry’s social media pages, today.
The statement read:
“The former form three student of Ste. Madeleine Secondary School met an untimely passing on the 8th of October, 2022. The death of any young person is a loss to Trinidad and Tobago’s future. May Videsh's soul rest in peace.”
