During the current cut and thrust of political debates during the ongoing General Election battle, politicians have been delivering some gems and jabs on the hustings. Today, we continue to deliver some of the statements that may have been missed.

People's National Movement's Trincity/Maloney Camille Rrobinson-Regis at last Friday's Barataria meeting:

“Big jackass, small jackass - same lasso! We comin' for them, we comin' for dem! ... Kamla you promising heaven and Earth, how you paying for dat? ... Look at the company she keeps! A veritable rogues’ gallery - police looking for half of them and the other half hanging on to her handbag.”

United National Congress Couva North candidate Jearlean John at last Saturday's Rio Claro meeting:

"Something is happening and you know something is happening when people - some of the most unlikely - telling you yellow is the code ... so PNM could do what dey want, dey could say what dey want, dey could call us what dey want - as long as dey don’t call us collect ..."

Patriotic Front Couva North candidate Mickela Panday at last Sunday's San Fernando meeting:

"Both the Government and the Opposition have continuously failed to address our nation's most critical issues. The shift has begun. The old politics has failed us ... the Patriotic Front isn't red or yellow, we're all the colours of every home, family and community..."

PNM St Ann's East candidate Dr Nyan Gadsby-Dolly:

"Barataria San Juan! Although I represent St Ann's East, my navel string bury in Barataria San Juan! I'm still a resident of Sunshine Avenue! Time to bring it home ... Tell them; Saddam - nothing! We voting for Yunus!”

UNC Mayaro candidate Nicholas Morris at last Saturday’s Rio Claro meeting:

For the last 10 years, you waited for jobs and all you got was 50,000 job losses … Mayaro, you have a duty to stand up to PNM and Stuart Young! He crashed the energy sector and Galeota and that suffered Mayaro for 10 years ! He crippled Mayaro - you must cripple him politically on April 28!”

PNM leader Dr Keith Rowley at last Friday's San Juan meeting:

"I want to tell that little walk and wine twit there’s a big difference between selling a car and tiefing a car - I’m ready, willing and able to deal with the DPP and anybody else for anything I sell. I'm afraid they can’t say the same thing. Imagine being accused of corruption - by the UNC! So, I'll tell Saddam Hosein tonight - Go to Hell!"

UNC Couva North candidate Jearlean John at last Saturday's Rio Claro meeting:

“All who want to give me high five - doh give me no high five! Show me your voting finger - we ent win as yet!"

PNM Trincity/Maloney candidate Camille Robinson-Regis at last Friday's San Juan meeting:

"No seat is safe for Kamla because the PNM in dey skin everywhere! Tabaquite, we in dey skin! Couva North! Claxton Bay! Chaguanas East! Cumuto/Manzanilla! Mayaro! We coming for dem. Red, ready and responsible!"

UNC leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar at last Thursday’s UNC labour platform:

“The UNC and partners represent the 99 per cent … for those who forget, the people are our bosses! Vote dem (PNM) out!”

PNM leader Dr Keith rowley at last Friday's San Juan meeting:

"The dog felt he wasn't getting enough, but one night he got a bone from the kitchen and he was very happy to have got it. He run by the riverside to enjoy this bone, cause you know how dogs love bones. When he look, he see another dog with a bone, he grab the bone the other dog had - and the bone in his own mouth fell out into the river because he was watching his shadow. That is what the PSA is telling public servants now!"

Patriotic Front Couva North candidate Mickela Panday at last Sunday's San Fernando meeting:

"Jersey don't buy vote. I pass by somebody house, they had about three hang up - every party. But they put on mine ... My father used to tell me crowds don't win vote or jerseys, pamphlets..."
