Dur­ing the cur­rent cut and thrust of po­lit­i­cal de­bates dur­ing the on­go­ing Gen­er­al Elec­tion bat­tle, politi­cians have been de­liv­er­ing some gems and jabs on the hus­tings. To­day, we con­tin­ue to de­liv­er some of the state­ments that may have been missed.

Peo­ple's Na­tion­al Move­ment's Trinci­ty/Mal­oney Camille Rrobin­son-Reg­is at last Fri­day's Barataria meet­ing:

“Big jack­ass, small jack­ass - same las­so! We comin' for them, we comin' for dem! ... Kam­la you promis­ing heav­en and Earth, how you pay­ing for dat? ... Look at the com­pa­ny she keeps! A ver­i­ta­ble rogues’ gallery - po­lice look­ing for half of them and the oth­er half hang­ing on to her hand­bag.”

Unit­ed Na­tion­al Con­gress Cou­va North can­di­date Jear­lean John at last Sat­ur­day's Rio Claro meet­ing:

"Some­thing is hap­pen­ing and you know some­thing is hap­pen­ing when peo­ple - some of the most un­like­ly - telling you yel­low is the code ... so PNM could do what dey want, dey could say what dey want, dey could call us what dey want - as long as dey don’t call us col­lect ..."

Pa­tri­ot­ic Front Cou­va North can­di­date Mick­ela Pan­day at last Sun­day's San Fer­nan­do meet­ing:

"Both the Gov­ern­ment and the Op­po­si­tion have con­tin­u­ous­ly failed to ad­dress our na­tion's most crit­i­cal is­sues. The shift has be­gun. The old pol­i­tics has failed us ... the Pa­tri­ot­ic Front isn't red or yel­low, we're all the colours of every home, fam­i­ly and com­mu­ni­ty..."

PNM St Ann's East can­di­date Dr Nyan Gads­by-Dol­ly:

"Barataria San Juan! Al­though I rep­re­sent St Ann's East, my navel string bury in Barataria San Juan! I'm still a res­i­dent of Sun­shine Av­enue! Time to bring it home ... Tell them; Sad­dam - noth­ing! We vot­ing for Yunus!”

UNC Ma­yaro can­di­date Nicholas Mor­ris at last Sat­ur­day’s Rio Claro meet­ing:

For the last 10 years, you wait­ed for jobs and all you got was 50,000 job loss­es … Ma­yaro, you have a du­ty to stand up to PNM and Stu­art Young! He crashed the en­er­gy sec­tor and Ga­le­o­ta and that suf­fered Ma­yaro for 10 years ! He crip­pled Ma­yaro - you must crip­ple him po­lit­i­cal­ly on April 28!”

PNM leader Dr Kei­th Row­ley at last Fri­day's San Juan meet­ing:

"I want to tell that lit­tle walk and wine twit there’s a big dif­fer­ence be­tween sell­ing a car and tief­ing a car - I’m ready, will­ing and able to deal with the DPP and any­body else for any­thing I sell. I'm afraid they can’t say the same thing. Imag­ine be­ing ac­cused of cor­rup­tion - by the UNC! So, I'll tell Sad­dam Ho­sein tonight - Go to Hell!"

“All who want to give me high five - doh give me no high five! Show me your vot­ing fin­ger - we ent win as yet!"

PNM Trinci­ty/Mal­oney can­di­date Camille Robin­son-Reg­is at last Fri­day's San Juan meet­ing:

"No seat is safe for Kam­la be­cause the PNM in dey skin every­where! Tabaquite, we in dey skin! Cou­va North! Clax­ton Bay! Ch­agua­nas East! Cu­mu­to/Man­zanil­la! Ma­yaro! We com­ing for dem. Red, ready and re­spon­si­ble!"

UNC leader Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar at last Thurs­day’s UNC labour plat­form:

“The UNC and part­ners rep­re­sent the 99 per cent … for those who for­get, the peo­ple are our boss­es! Vote dem (PNM) out!”

"The dog felt he wasn't get­ting enough, but one night he got a bone from the kitchen and he was very hap­py to have got it. He run by the river­side to en­joy this bone, cause you know how dogs love bones. When he look, he see an­oth­er dog with a bone, he grab the bone the oth­er dog had - and the bone in his own mouth fell out in­to the riv­er be­cause he was watch­ing his shad­ow. That is what the PSA is telling pub­lic ser­vants now!"
