Police Commissioner Erla Harewood-Christopher has hailed the recently held Tobgao Carnival as safe and successful.
The festivities were held over this past weekend.
In a statement today Harewood-Christopher commended her officers.
” As Commissioner of Police I would like to extend my deepest appreciation to the officers of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) for their outstanding policing in support of a safe and successful Tobago Carnival 2024. The Tobago Carnival 2024 exemplified the dedication, teamwork and professionalism of officers and was a true showcase of what can be achieved through collaboration, diligence, and a shared sense of responsibility,” she said.
She also thanked everyone involved in helping the TTPS achieve its mission of giving residents and visitors a memorable and safe Tobago Carnival experience.
” This significant achievement would not have been possible without the outstanding leadership of DCP Suzette Martin and the Incident Command Team of ACP Collis Hazel, ACP Oswain Subero, and Snr Supt Earl Elie. Their vision, strategic planning and astute execution of their plans were critical elements of their success. The cooperation of the many officers on the ground, provided the framework for an effective security blanket, making it possible for the over 8000 participants to celebrate safely,” she said.
Officers from various Divisions, Branches, and Sections from Trinidad supplemented and supported their colleagues on the island to deliver on this key objective.
The Top Cop said this collective effort further underscores the TTPS’s ongoing commitment to public safety.
