Po­lice are in­ves­ti­gat­ing an in­ci­dent where a 34-year-old Va­len­cia man was kid­napped and beat­en by men wear­ing po­lice tac­ti­cal wear on Fri­day night.

Po­lice said of­fi­cers of the East­ern Di­vi­sion re­ceived a re­port of a sus­pect­ed kid­nap­ping on Quar­ry Road, Va­len­cia,  around 8.05 pm and went to the scene.  They were told that the man was bun­dled in­to a white SUV by at­tack­ers in po­lice uni­forms.

Po­lice co­or­di­nat­ed an ex­er­cise in­volv­ing the Va­len­cia CID, the San­gre Grande CID, the Emer­gency Re­sponse Pa­trol and the East­ern Di­vi­sion Task Force.

How­ev­er, po­lice re­ceived a phone call hours lat­er that the man was re­leased around 10.30 pm and was at his Gill Street home.

Of­fi­cers vis­it­ed the home and spoke with the man who had in­juries to his wrists and face.

Po­lice are con­tin­u­ing en­quiries and are still search­ing ar­eas for the ve­hi­cle in­volved in the kid­nap­ping.
