The fam­i­ly of a Clax­ton Bay lor­ry work­er, who was mur­dered af­ter he left his fa­ther’s home, is pray­ing for jus­tice.

Daniel Phillip’s mur­der has left his rel­a­tives in a state of shock as they de­scribed him as a nice and lov­ing per­son.

Po­lice are still try­ing to de­ter­mine a mo­tive.

His rel­a­tives said Phillip nev­er com­plained of be­ing in dan­ger.

Phillip, 27, was shot mul­ti­ple times.

Po­lice said short­ly af­ter 6 am a man was ex­er­cis­ing when he saw the body on the side of the road near the Ocean View De­vel­op­ment, St Mar­garet’s Vil­lage, Clax­ton Bay and con­tact­ed them.

Phillip’s younger sis­ter, who did not want to give her name, said her broth­er lived with her and their moth­er at Pranz Av­enue, Clax­ton Bay. She said he went to vis­it his fa­ther at Boodoo Trace, St Mar­garet’s on Tues­day. His fa­ther told them that he left to re­turn home around 10.30 pm.

But, Phillip nev­er ar­rived.

His sis­ter said when she work up around 4 am to go to work on Wednes­day she re­alised that he was not home and in­formed her moth­er.

“We knew some­thing was wrong be­cause if he not com­ing home he would call.”

The fam­i­ly made a re­port to the po­lice that day. But, on Thurs­day evening they learnt an uniden­ti­fied body was found in St Mar­garet’s. She said the de­scrip­tion of the per­son fit her broth­er and the cloth­ing matched what he was wear­ing when he left home on Tues­day.

The griev­ing sis­ter said they then con­tact­ed po­lice.

She added that her broth­er’s body was found a few min­utes away from where his fa­ther lives, but he could not have walked there.

She could not say whether or not her broth­er was robbed as the po­lice are yet to give fur­ther de­tails.

But Phillip’s sis­ter wants his killer or killers to face the law.

“We are hop­ing and pray­ing.”

An au­top­sy is ex­pect­ed to be con­duct­ed next week at the Foren­sic Sci­ence Cen­tre. Of­fi­cers of the Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions Re­gion 3 are in­ves­ti­gat­ing.
