To­ba­go House of As­sem­bly Chief Sec­re­tary Far­ley Au­gus­tine has con­tin­ued to hold his tongue con­cern­ing the sit­u­a­tion in­volv­ing his for­mer Pro­gres­sive De­mo­c­ra­t­ic Pa­tri­ots col­leagues.

Asked yes­ter­day, whether PDP leader Wat­son Duke should re­sign from the par­ty fol­low­ing his pub­lic de­ba­cle with for­mer PDP deputy leader Kezel Jack­son, Au­gus­tine said, “No com­ment from me, you can di­rect those ques­tions to the chair­man of that par­ty.”

Au­gus­tine him­self was re­moved as a PDP deputy leader in Sep­tem­ber last year, af­ter Duke re­signed as deputy Chief Sec­re­tary in the midst of a pub­lic spat be­tween the two over help for a Rox­bor­ough-based cul­tur­al group strand­ed in New York.

Duke has been a mem­ber of the House’s mi­nor­i­ty since that res­ig­na­tion.

Au­gus­tine and 14 oth­er elect­ed THA mem­bers, who won their posts un­der the PDP par­ty’s um­brel­la, sub­se­quent­ly left the par­ty out­right in De­cem­ber.

Jack­son had been crit­i­cal of Au­gus­tine dur­ing that fall­out, but last week an­nounced her res­ig­na­tion from the par­ty, cit­ing her own con­cerns with Duke.

Yes­ter­day, Au­gus­tine con­firmed he will be con­duct­ing the planned reshuf­fle he an­nounced last year.

“Last year, I ac­tu­al­ly said I will do it ear­ly in this year but we have some lo­gis­ti­cal is­sues which held some things back but, you can ex­pect it pret­ty soon... Pret­ty soon, “ he said.

He said he was look­ing for­ward to the THA de­bate to­day, where his ad­min­is­tra­tion will an­swer a mo­tion of no con­fi­dence from the mi­nor­i­ty. He said much of his ad­min­is­tra­tion plans will be prop­er­ly re­vealed dur­ing the de­bate.
