A 35-year-old father has been charged with three counts of sexually touching his 14-year-old daughter. The suspect was remanded into custody when he appeared before Magistrate Maureen Baboolal-Gafoor at the Port of Spain Magistrates’ Court yesterday. He is expected to appear in court on February 13th.
According to police reports, the victim told her teacher on several occasions she was allegedly sexually touched by her father. The incident was reported to the Child Protection Unit, Port of Spain Division. The officers investigated the matter, and a man was arrested on February 7th. He was charged the next day.
The investigation was supervised by Senior Superintendent Claire–Guy Alleyne, ASP Seecharan and Inspector Simmons and Sergeant James.
