A 35-year-old fa­ther has been charged with three counts of sex­u­al­ly touch­ing his 14-year-old daugh­ter. The sus­pect was re­mand­ed in­to cus­tody when he ap­peared be­fore Mag­is­trate Mau­reen Ba­boolal-Gafoor at the Port of Spain Mag­is­trates’ Court yes­ter­day. He is ex­pect­ed to ap­pear in court on Feb­ru­ary 13th. 

 Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports, the vic­tim told her teacher on sev­er­al oc­ca­sions she was al­leged­ly sex­u­al­ly touched by her fa­ther. The in­ci­dent was re­port­ed to the Child Pro­tec­tion Unit, Port of Spain Di­vi­sion. The of­fi­cers in­ves­ti­gat­ed the mat­ter, and a man was ar­rest­ed on Feb­ru­ary 7th. He was charged the next day. 

The in­ves­ti­ga­tion was su­per­vised by Se­nior Su­per­in­ten­dent Claire–Guy Al­leyne, ASP Seecha­ran and In­spec­tor Sim­mons and Sergeant James.
