Four per­sons are home­less af­ter a fire de­stroyed an apart­ment build­ing at Bloody Bay, To­ba­go on Tues­day morn­ing.

Ac­cord­ing to re­ports from the Trinidad and To­ba­go Fire Ser­vice, the fire start­ed around 8:15am.

Guardian Me­dia un­der­stands that the blaze dam­aged three out of the four apart­ments of the build­ing, owned by Vaness Quashie-Wright.

We are told that the roof was al­so de­stroyed.

Res­i­dents in ar­eas al­so formed a buck­et as they at­tempt­ed to douse the flames, but proved too much for them. The build­ing was val­ued at $1.35 mil­lion, while the es­ti­mat­ed loss has been put at $1.2 mil­lion.

The cause of the fire is yet to be as­cer­tained.

Of­fi­cers of the Rox­bor­ough Fire Sta­tion re­spond­ed to the call.
