A firearm and a quantity of ammunition were seized during an Operation Trident Exercise conducted in the West End Police District yesterday.
Between 12:45 pm and 3:30 pm on Monday 3rd November 2025, officers of the West End Division Gang and Intelligence Unit (WDGIU), acting on information received, proceeded to Upper North Post Road, Diego Martin, in an area known as The Pines.
While conducting a search near a concrete platform, officers discovered one brown and black shotgun wrapped in a black plastic bag. Further examination revealed the firearm contained two rounds of 12-gauge ammunition.
Officers also observed several cut and burnt pine trees at the location. A solar-powered CCTV camera affixed to one of the trees was removed and taken to the station pending further investigations.
The operation was sanctioned by Senior Superintendent Williams and W/Ag. ASP Aguilleria. It was coordinated by Inspector Grant and Sergeant Corbett, and supervised by Ag/Cpl Joseph.
Police confirmed that investigations are ongoing and urged members of the public to provide any information that could assist with the matter. No arrests were reported at the time of the operation.
The West End Division stated that Operation Trident continues to target criminal activity in the district, with an emphasis on reducing the illegal possession of firearms and related offences. Officers said they remain committed to patrolling high-risk areas and acting on intelligence received from the community.
