One man was detained and two firearms seized during joint police operations across Port-of-Spain and the North Eastern Division on Friday.
According to a media release from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), the intelligence-led exercise took place between 3:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. under the authority of the State of Emergency Regulations.
In Laventille, officers searched homes at Beverly Hills and Canada Plannings, Marcano Quarry Road. During a sweep of the area, a shotgun was recovered.
The operation then shifted to JoJo Lane in Aranguez, where officers found a Glock pistol, sixteen rounds of 9mm ammunition, and two spent 9mm shells.
The Port-of-Spain Gang Unit detained one person for further questioning related to gang activity.
