Fish­er­man Ty­ronne Mar­ryshaw ap­peared in court yes­ter­day charged with the mur­der of an­oth­er fish­er­man fol­low­ing a dis­pute of a miss­ing boat light.

Mar­ryshaw, 30, of L’Anse Noire Vil­lage, To­co, ap­peared be­fore San­gre Grande Mag­is­trate De­bra Quin­tyne yes­ter­day.

Mar­ryshaw is ac­cused of mur­der­ing 38-year-old David Cal­len­der of Uni­ty Lane, Anglais Road, Cumana, on Jan­u­ary 14. The charge was laid by Sgt Sookdeo of To­co Po­lice Sta­tion.

Mar­ryshaw bowed his head as Quin­tyne read the charge to him. He was rep­re­sent­ed by at­tor­neys Patrick God­son Phillip and Na­dia Scott.

Mar­ryshaw was re­mand­ed in cus­tody at Gold­en Grove Prison and will re­turn to court on Feb­ru­ary 19.

On Mon­day, Mar­ryshow ap­peared be­fore the same mag­is­trate charged with pos­ses­sion of a firearm and am­mu­ni­tion.

He was grant­ed $70,000 bail on that charge but was re­ar­rest­ed be­fore leav­ing the hold­ing cell at San­gre Grande and charged with mur­der fol­low­ing in­struc­tions from the Of­fice of the Di­rec­tor of Pub­lic Pros­e­cu­tions.
