Five peo­ple were ar­rest­ed and a quan­ti­ty of cannabis seized dur­ing Op­er­a­tion Fes­tive Shield ex­er­cis­es con­duct­ed in the South­ern and North­ern Di­vi­sions yes­ter­day.

In the South­ern Di­vi­sion, Task Force of­fi­cers con­duct­ed an ex­er­cise be­tween 4 pm and 8 pm on Sat­ur­day 13th De­cem­ber, 2025. Of­fi­cers pro­ceed­ed to the Princes Town dis­trict, where they found two pack­ets con­tain­ing ap­prox­i­mate­ly one kilo­gramme of cannabis.

A 41 year old man was ar­rest­ed in con­nec­tion with the find.

Dur­ing the same ex­er­cise, of­fi­cers al­so ar­rest­ed a 28 year old man of In­di­an Walk for pos­ses­sion of a quan­ti­ty of cannabis.

The op­er­a­tion in the South­ern Di­vi­sion was co­or­di­nat­ed by Snr Supt Si­mon, Supt Bertie, W Supt Bridglal, ASP Ram­saran, ASP Ram­lo­gan, ASP Chu­lan and In­sp Wilkin­son.

Mean­while, in the North­ern Di­vi­sion, of­fi­cers con­duct­ing in­ves­ti­ga­tions in­to re­ports of lar­ce­ny of a mo­tor ve­hi­cle ar­rest­ed three male sus­pects, ages 18 to 29, from Bel­mont and San Juan.

The ex­er­cis­es in the North­ern Di­vi­sion were spear­head­ed by ACP Singh, W Snr Supt May­nard Wil­son, Supt Mc Ken­zie, ASP Morales and W In­sp Ce­de­no Fi­garo.
