A 69-year-old for­mer school maxi dri­ver was found mur­dered in Arou­ca ear­ly on Mon­day morn­ing.

He was iden­ti­fied as Den­nis Af­fan of #5 14th Av­enue, Bon Air Gar­dens, Arou­ca.

Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port at about 12:35 am Af­fan was shot dead while in front of his house. Po­lice said there was a gun­shot wound to the front of his neck.

The area was processed and three spent 9mm shell cas­ings were re­cov­ered at the cor­ner of Bon Air Cir­cu­lar and 14th Av­enue, which is ap­prox­i­mate­ly 150 feet away from the body.

The body was re­moved from the scene to be sub­se­quent­ly tak­en to the Foren­sic Sci­ence Cen­tre for an au­top­sy.
