A 45-year-old ven­dor was shot and killed while con­duct­ing sales at his St Au­gus­tine fruit stall on Sat­ur­day night.

Po­lice said Dar­ryl Bridge­lal, was at the stall on the East­ern Main Road, near the Bam­ba Night Club, at around 11.38 pm when a sil­ver car drove near him.

Two gun­men got out of the car and shot him sev­er­al times.

Bridge­lal ran away but col­lapsed near­by, as his killers got back in the car and drove off.

A pass­er by took Bridge­lal to the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Com­plex where he was de­clared dead at around 11.57 pm.

North­ern Di­vi­sion crime scene in­ves­ti­ga­tors vis­it­ed the scene and found 23 5.56 spent shells and ten 9 mm spent shells.

Po­lice from the Homi­cide Bu­reau of In­ves­ti­ga­tions Re­gion II are con­tin­u­ing en­quiries.
