An 11-year-old girl, still waiting to write this year’s Secondary Examination Assessment (SEA), sat the Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate exams and actually passed.
Keziah John, a Standard Five student at the Specialist Learning Centre, received her online results last Friday.
John’s advice to her peers yesterday was: “Though it is bigger than you still do it.”
In a brief interview, John said she was still in shock.
She said, “I couldn’t believe it, I was in shock. I still in shock.”
Keziah said a private tutor pushed and trained her.
“I didn’t think I could do it, I am going to do Add Maths after and I am sitting SEA on May 4,” she added.
John said her first choice for SEA is Holy Name Convent in Port-of-Spain.
She said though she still has many choices she would like to be an actress.
“If I can do it then another child can do it,” Keziah said.
Keziah’s mother, Caron John, said she knew her daughter was talented.
“She was always incredible in Maths. It took five months because she has to balance SEA as well,” she said.
Caron quoted Philippians in the Bible: “You can do anything through Christ who strengthens me. Her teacher called me and told me check online. When I saw it I printed it out,” she said.
“I am thankful to God,” an elated Caron said.
