An un­cle of 15-year-old Al­liyah Alexan­der who was beat­en to death is ap­peal­ing to the au­thor­i­ties to re­lease the male rel­a­tive who is in po­lice cus­tody in con­nec­tion with the in­ci­dent. He made the ap­peal dur­ing her fu­ner­al ser­vice yes­ter­day at The Apos­tles' Min­istries in Long­denville, Ch­agua­nas, Jim­my Guev­er­ra al­so asked those who have thoughts of re­tal­i­a­tion to for­give the man.

Al­liyah was cel­e­brat­ed in dance and song as she was re­mem­bered as a "per­fect", in­tel­li­gent, obe­di­ent, lov­ing and well-round­ed young woman. Al­liyah's tro­phies, medals and cer­tifi­cates from all her achieve­ments, in­clud­ing be­ing a na­tion­al swim­mer, were dis­played on a ta­ble.

Gue­var­ra spoke about the close bond Al­liyah shared with the male rel­a­tive who loved her more than him­self. But, he said the rel­a­tive was used by Sa­tan.

Ac­cus­ing the me­dia and oth­ers who want "to nail him to the cross," Guev­er­ra said, "I am telling you guys here, God al­lows things to hap­pen for a rea­son and Sa­tan used (name called) as that rod at that point in time."

Ad­mit­ting that ini­tial­ly he want­ed to "grab out his (male rel­a­tive) throat," he said, "I just want­ed two sec­onds with him. I feel al­lyuh pain. Now I am ask­ing from the bot­tom of my heart that those of you in au­thor­i­ty who have the au­thor­i­ty to let (name called) go, al­lyuh do it be­cause he don't de­serve this, and what (name called) is go­ing through right now is worst than any­body could imag­ine. I was even pray­ing and ask­ing God for this man not to kill him­self be­cause of the pain I know (name called) is go­ing through. (Name called) is not no crim­i­nal, they paint­ing him as a crim­i­nal on TV." He said the cir­cum­stances of this in­ci­dent does not make any sense.

He said just last week Al­liyah at­tend­ed the wake for the sev­en-year-old boy who drowned in Table­land as the fam­i­lies were close.

De­liv­er­ing a beau­ti­ful eu­lo­gy, Al­liyah's teacher Car­olyn Vil­lafana said dur­ing the pan­dem­ic over the last year, Al­liyah, a stu­dent of Cou­va West Sec­ondary, penned a book of po­ems which she fin­ished last Sun­day and named Al­liyah Whis­pers Loud­ly. De­scrib­ing Al­liyah as hav­ing in­ner and out­er beau­ty, she said Al­liyah was bap­tised at the age of sev­en and be­gan swim­ming at the age of two. She was al­so a dy­nam­ic church youth mem­ber, a dis­ci­plined cadet, a Red Cross mem­ber, a Girls' Guide, a dancer, and a lov­ing and de­ter­mined stu­dent.

Un­able to come to terms with Al­liyah's death, her aunt Maria Guev­er­ra said, "Al­liyah was just per­fect. She did not de­serve this, that's what re­al­ly both­er­ing me, and she nev­er use to give no kind of trou­ble to de­serve what she went through." A pro­ces­sion led by a mu­sic truck was held from the Fu­ner­al Home in Cou­va to the church and then from the church to the Long­denville Pub­lic Ceme­tery.
