Guayaguayare fisherman denied bail and remanded into custody

A pop­u­lar fish­er­man from Guayagua­yare has been charged with ar­son, 3 counts of at­tempt­ed mur­der, one count of as­sault and sev­er­al gun-re­lat­ed charges.


Sel­wyn Sood­een 39-year-old of Calma­pass Vil­lage, Guayagua­yare has been charged with three counts of at­tempt­ed mur­der, ar­son, one count of com­mon as­sault, two counts of pos­ses­sion of a firearm, two counts of pos­ses­sion of am­mu­ni­tion, two counts of pos­ses­sion of a firearm to en­dan­ger life and two counts of pos­ses­sion of am­mu­ni­tion to en­dan­ger life.


He ap­peared be­fore Mag­is­trate Nizam Khan in the Ma­yaro Dis­trict Court on Fri­day.
He was not called up­on to plead as the mat­ters were lead in­dictably. He was re­fused bail and re­mand­ed in cus­tody.


Cpl Neaves of Ma­yaro Po­lice Sta­tion laid the charges.
