A 38-year-old man was shot dead while sit­ting in his ve­hi­cle in Char­lieville, Ch­agua­nas, on Wednes­day evening.

Po­lice iden­ti­fied the vic­tim as Sa-id Hamid Khan of Baksh Street, Tu­na­puna. In­ves­ti­ga­tors said Khan was orig­i­nal­ly from Ch­agua­nas.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports, the in­ci­dent oc­curred at about 7 pm. Khan was parked in his Hon­da Vezel SUV in front of the Gen­er­al Ac­ci­dent In­sur­ance com­pound when a ve­hi­cle pulled up near­by.

Po­lice said a gun­man ex­it­ed the ve­hi­cle and opened fire, shoot­ing Khan mul­ti­ple times be­fore flee­ing the scene. Khan died at the lo­ca­tion.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors be­lieve a lone gun­man car­ried out the at­tack. Up to yes­ter­day, po­lice had not es­tab­lished a mo­tive for the killing.

Of­fi­cers of the Cen­tral Di­vi­sion re­spond­ed and car­ried out ini­tial in­quiries. De­tec­tives at­tached to Homi­cide South have since tak­en over the in­ves­ti­ga­tion.

Po­lice are con­tin­u­ing in­quiries and are ap­peal­ing to any­one with in­for­ma­tion to con­tact in­ves­ti­ga­tors.
