A 38-year-old man was shot and killed while sit­ting in his ve­hi­cle in Char­lieville, Ch­agua­nas, on Wednes­day evening.

The vic­tim has been iden­ti­fied as Sa-id Hamid Khan, of Baksh Street, Tu­na­puna. How­ev­er, in­ves­ti­ga­tors said Khan was orig­i­nal­ly from Ch­agua­nas.

Ac­cord­ing to po­lice re­ports, the in­ci­dent oc­curred at around 7 pm. Khan was parked in his Hon­da Vezel SUV out­side the Gen­er­al Ac­ci­dent In­sur­ance com­pound in Char­lieville when an­oth­er ve­hi­cle re­port­ed­ly pulled up near­by.

Po­lice said a lone gun­man ex­it­ed the ve­hi­cle and opened fire, shoot­ing Khan mul­ti­ple times be­fore flee­ing the scene. Khan sus­tained sev­er­al gun­shot wounds and died at the scene.

In­ves­ti­ga­tors be­lieve the at­tack was car­ried out by a lone gun­man. Up to Thurs­day, po­lice said they had not es­tab­lished a mo­tive for the killing.

Of­fi­cers of the Cen­tral Di­vi­sion re­spond­ed to the scene and car­ried out ini­tial in­quiries. De­tec­tives at­tached to the Homi­cide Bu­reau Re­gion III have since tak­en over the in­ves­ti­ga­tion.

Po­lice are con­tin­u­ing their in­quiries and are ap­peal­ing to any­one with in­for­ma­tion that may as­sist the in­ves­ti­ga­tion to come for­ward.
