Hank Williams

At first glance, one may perceive Hank Williams to be ordinary and standard, with his usual soft shirt, trousers and the spectacles that he can’t seem to do without. However, behind those “Clark Kent” glasses, is a man who possesses undeniable strength and fortitude, having worked in the media industry for over 33 years. For the last 18 of those years, he helped nurture CNC3 from its baby stage into adulthood.

Williams, who now holds the title of Head of the Creative Design Department at Guardian Media, supported CNC3 throughout its growth transition and overcame challenges that others may have run away from.

In the start-up of CNC3, Hank played an important role in structuring the station’s broadcast equipment. He used his skills and experience as both Systems Analyst and Broadcast Systems Analyst to assist the Engineering team in the configuration of key broadcast equipment and editing bays to communicate and function seamlessly. What seemed like a miracle task was very doable for Hank…he devised strategies and ‘out of the box’ thinking that allowed him and his team to always deliver maximum value. Hank’s open leadership style and strong project management skills, together with an exceptional support team, were the main reasons they excelled in launching a strong CNC3 television station which has now become a household name for news and entertainment.

The adage, “All work makes Jack a dull boy”, is not just a saying, but one that Hank refuses to identify with. His most favourite and enjoyable moments working at CNC3 were travelling the world on work-related projects with fellow co-worker and former Director of Sport, Roger Sant. His job gave him opportunities to cover stories like’s T&T’s Soca Warriors in Germany’s World Cup in 2006, the Beijing Olympics 2008, London Olympics 2012, and the World Cup in Rio 2014. It should be noted that both Hank and Roger were pioneers in reporting foreign sports. They would boast about executing each assignment with perfection by consistently outpacing the competition and first-to-market with sponsored daily sports reports for CNC3 7PM NEWS.

Hank grew up in the media industry and experienced aggressive competition. However, this never deterred or distracted from the focus on the company’s goal to establish CNC3 as the leading television station in T&T.

According to him, “What separates us from the rest of television networks in this country is the strength of a diverse, multi-talented, and experienced team in our company.”

Hank Williams is considered a veteran and mentor to CNC3.

In the words of Hank Williams, “Happy 18th Anniversary to CNC3, here’s to looking forward to another 118 years!”
