The Ministry of Health has announced that the independent expert panel convened to review the circumstances surrounding the passing of six-year-old Jasher Francois has submitted its report.
According to the Ministry, while the panel has presented its findings, a statement from the parents of Jasher Francois was not received during the extension period that had been granted to them.
The Office of the Chief Medical Officer has since contacted Jasher’s parents to obtain their perspective. The Ministry stated that this step is necessary to ensure the review reflects fairness and includes the views of all parties involved.
The Ministry of Health reiterated its condolences to the Francois family and reaffirmed its commitment to carrying out the review process with integrity. Officials said the Ministry will continue to update the public as the review progresses.
The expert panel was established to examine all circumstances surrounding the case, with the intention of providing recommendations to guide future actions. The Ministry noted that capturing the parents’ input remains a critical element in the process and has assured that efforts will continue to include their voice.
Further details on the report will be made public in due course, according to the Ministry.
