Erik Kesku­la has re­signed as the Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer of Her­itage Pe­tro­le­um Com­pa­ny Lim­it­ed.

He was se­lect­ed in June 2023 to run the State-owned oil and gas com­pa­ny.

Kesku­la re­signed on June 30, but it has now sur­faced.

In a memo to staff which was ob­tained by the Guardian me­dia Kesku­la said “Over the past two years, we have been able to col­lec­tive­ly achieve con­tin­u­ous suc­cess­ful per­for­mance for Her­itage, em­body­ing our "One Team One Jour­ney One Goal" cul­ture. To­geth­er. We have faced chal­lenges head-on, learned from them, and made sig­nif­i­cant con­tri­bu­tions to the Gov­ern­ment and peo­ple of T&T.”

On Mon­day a new Her­itage board was giv­en its in­stru­ments of ap­point­ment, by En­er­gy Min­is­ter Dr Roodal Mooni­lal.

The chair­man is Kurt Ram­lal, a for­mer Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer of the Ur­ban De­vel­op­ment Cor­po­ra­tion of T&T (UDE­COTT).

In de­liv­er­ing re­marks, Min­is­ter Mooni­lal em­pha­sised the crit­i­cal role these en­ti­ties play in the na­tion­al en­er­gy land­scape and re­mind­ed the mem­bers of the man­date is­sued by Prime Min­is­ter Kam­la Per­sad-Bisses­sar, for the coun­try to re-emerge as the en­er­gy hub of the Caribbean.
