Min­is­ter of Land and Le­gal Af­fairs Sad­dam Ho­sein and For­eign Af­fairs Min­is­ter Sean Sobers met with Bahrain’s Min­is­ter of Le­gal Af­fairs, Yousef bin Ab­dul­hus­sain Kha­laf, in Man­a­ma yes­ter­day.

Ac­cord­ing to a re­lease from the Min­istry of Land and Le­gal Af­fairs (ML­LA), the meet­ing at Al-Qudaibiya Palace was “part of a col­lab­o­ra­tive pro­gramme by the Gov­ern­ment of Trinidad and To­ba­go to deep­en bi­lat­er­al ties, fos­ter mu­tu­al un­der­stand­ing, and pro­mote co­op­er­a­tion in in­sti­tu­tion­al de­vel­op­ment and ser­vice de­liv­ery.”

Dur­ing the dis­cus­sions, the min­is­ters reaf­firmed their com­mit­ment to ad­vanc­ing di­a­logue on shared in­ter­ests and ex­plor­ing tech­ni­cal col­lab­o­ra­tion be­tween their min­istries for na­tion­al ben­e­fit.

Top­ics in­clud­ed mod­ernising cur­rent sys­tems, strength­en­ing gov­er­nance, and ad­vanc­ing sus­tain­able na­tion­al de­vel­op­ment ini­tia­tives.

Both par­ties em­pha­sised the ben­e­fits of con­tin­ued part­ner­ship and agreed to main­tain open com­mu­ni­ca­tion to fa­cil­i­tate fu­ture joint projects.

“Min­is­ter Ho­sein ex­pressed ap­pre­ci­a­tion for the warm wel­come re­ceived and em­pha­sised the im­por­tance of deep­en­ing en­gage­ment to ad­dress emerg­ing chal­lenges with­in the le­gal and land-re­lat­ed sec­tors,” the re­lease stat­ed.

“His Ex­cel­len­cy Kha­laf high­light­ed the long­stand­ing friend­ship be­tween the two na­tions and wel­comed the prospect of fur­ther col­lab­o­ra­tion.”

The meet­ing con­clud­ed with an agree­ment to pur­sue fol­low-up dis­cus­sions through the re­spec­tive tech­ni­cal teams.

This en­gage­ment forms part of the gov­ern­ment’s Strate­gic In­vest­ment Mis­sion to the UAE and Bahrain, aligned with its broad­er re­vi­tal­i­sa­tion blue­print.
