House of Jacqui walked away with four ma­jor awards at Cou­va Kid­dies Car­ni­val on Sun­day.

Led by mul­ti­ple win­ning band­leader Jacqui Koon How, the band’s pre­sen­ta­tion of Come Fly With Me won the Band of the Year crown.

Come Fly With Me mas­quer­aders al­so took the King and Queen of the Bands and Fe­male In­di­vid­ual of the Year ti­tles.

Zane Rocke, por­tray­ing Splen­dor of Na­ture, emerged King of the Bands; Ne­tanya Phillip danced her way to Queen of the Bands in a re­splen­dent cos­tume ti­tled Raise Me Up and Kali­ah Noel cap­tured Fe­male In­di­vid­ual of the Year.

Tak­ing sec­ond po­si­tion in the Band of the Year cat­e­go­ry was Ec­cles Vil­lage AC School & Friends, led by Su­san Har­ri­et, with Ah Home. Third place was tak­en by Valereign Kids Mas pre­sen­ta­tion of Lit­tle Voy­ager, led by Valar­ie Nor­ie­ga.

Cou­va Car­ni­val Com­mit­tee chair­man Ram­c­hand Ra­jbal Maraj praised the band­lead­ers for the high qual­i­ty of their pre­sen­ta­tions.

“We have seen a marked im­prove­ment in the qual­i­ty of their pre­sen­ta­tion de­signs this year. It’s ob­vi­ous that a lot of cre­ativ­i­ty has gone in­to the var­i­ous cos­tumes,” he not­ed.
