The Industrial Court of Trinidad and Tobago is mourning the death of long-serving judge Her Honour Ms Bindimattie Mahabir.
In a statement, the court said Mahabir dedicated more than 26 years of service after being appointed to the General Services Division in October 2000.
During her tenure, she presided over numerous matters in open court and successfully resolved many disputes through conciliation. Before joining the bench, Mahabir served as a senior conciliator in the Ministry of Labour, where she played a key role in mediating disputes.
The court said she would be remembered by colleagues and staff for her vibrant spirit and engaging personality.
The President, members of the bench and staff extended condolences to her family, friends and loved ones.
