An As­sis­tant Su­per­in­ten­dent of the Guard and Emer­gency Branch says kick­ing some­one in the head when they're down is not some­thing that he sup­ports.  

“It is not right for you to kick some­one in the back of their head, there are tac­tics in which we are trained in or­der to have a per­son sub­dued but that in­ci­dent, I would not want to com­ment on that in­ci­dent,” said Act­ing Su­per­in­ten­dent Aval­on Frank who re­it­er­at­ed that the mat­ter is still un­der in­ves­ti­ga­tion.

The Po­lice Com­plaints Au­thor­i­ty and the Pro­fes­sion­al Stan­dards Bu­reau are in­ves­ti­gat­ing an in­ci­dent where force was used by the po­lice to sub­due a man fol­low­ing a fete. Dur­ing that in­ci­dent, the man was seen on video be­ing kicked sev­er­al times by the ar­rest­ing of­fi­cers fol­low­ing an al­ter­ca­tion. 

Asked al­so to com­ment on the mat­ter, Act­ing Po­lice Com­mis­sion­er Mc­Don­ald Ja­cob said he can­not com­ment on a video which on­ly shows part of what tran­spired. Ja­cob said he will await the re­sults of the in­ves­ti­ga­tions be­fore com­ment­ing fur­ther.  

Mean­while, the Guard and Emer­gency Branch of the Po­lice Ser­vice is con­grat­u­lat­ing it­self for what it calls a job well done dur­ing yes­ter­day's Jam Naked, As­sis­tant Su­per­in­ten­dent Frank said there were no vi­o­lent crimes re­port­ed. Su­per­in­ten­dent Frank said the on­ly is­sues were a cou­ple of car break-ins. 

Speak­ing at this morn­ing's po­lice press brief­ing, Frank said this is a ma­jor ac­com­plish­ment as the fete was held in an area that is known to be a hub for gang ac­tiv­i­ty
