The man­ag­er of the JTA Su­per­mar­ket lo­cat­ed at the C3 Shop­ping Cen­tre, San Fer­nan­do died whilst on his way to work Wednes­day.

Paul Ali, 32, of Pri­am Street San Fer­nan­do was dri­ving his blue coloured AD wag­on south along the Uri­ah But­ler High­way in the vicin­i­ty of the Ca­roni Over­pass around 5.15 am on De­cem­ber 14, when he lost con­trol and crashed in­to the ravine on the west­ern side of the road­way.

He was trapped in the ve­hi­cle and had to be freed by fire ser­vice of­fi­cers be­fore he could be tak­en to hos­pi­tal.

Al­though Ali un­der­went emer­gency treat­ment at the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Com­plex, Mt Hope – he suc­cumbed to his in­juries a short while lat­er.

Ali’s car was lat­er tak­en to the St Joseph Po­lice Sta­tion.

In­ves­ti­ga­tions are con­tin­u­ing in­to the in­ci­dent.
