Young people are getting a headstart when it comes to the various cultures in T&T. Ten Junior Best Village Camps rolled out this week at venues in Trinidad. Askahi Noel, Best Village Officer 2, with the Ministry of Sport and Community Development, said each camp would explore a different theme based on the cultural heritage of the different peoples that settled in T&T.
She said youths would be exposed to dance, drama, art, music, cooking and other necessary cultural facets. Noel said one of the objectives is to ensure that youths between the ages of 7-17 would get a greater understanding of the people in their community. The youths would also learn valuable skills that would enrich them in years to come. The camp runs for 10 days and will culminate with a grand show on July 28.
