Young peo­ple are get­ting a head­start when it comes to the var­i­ous cul­tures in T&T. Ten Ju­nior Best Vil­lage Camps rolled out this week at venues in Trinidad. Askahi Noel, Best Vil­lage Of­fi­cer 2, with the Min­istry of Sport and Com­mu­ni­ty De­vel­op­ment, said each camp would ex­plore a dif­fer­ent theme based on the cul­tur­al her­itage of the dif­fer­ent peo­ples that set­tled in T&T.

She said youths would be ex­posed to dance, dra­ma, art, mu­sic, cook­ing and oth­er nec­es­sary cul­tur­al facets. Noel said one of the ob­jec­tives is to en­sure that youths be­tween the ages of 7-17 would get a greater un­der­stand­ing of the peo­ple in their com­mu­ni­ty. The youths would al­so learn valu­able skills that would en­rich them in years to come. The camp runs for 10 days and will cul­mi­nate with a grand show on Ju­ly 28.
