UNC leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar has called on former UNC Minister Vasant Bharath to “stop washing his mouth on the UNC rank and file.”
And she’s said it was “karma” that Faris Al-Rawi was removed as Attorney General.
Persad-Bissessar spoke at Monday night’s UNC Forum where she began by attacking the group which clashed with UNC’s Women’s arm on Sunday at Divali Nagar.
Bharath unsuccessfully contested UNC’s leadership election against her in 2020. Last Sunday UNC’s David Lee had questioned if Bharath was “behind” the clash with the other group. Yesterday Bharath said he had nothing to do with the activity.
But Persad-Bissessar said it was “despicable and disturbing” to see the Women’s arm being “Stalked” and attacked by these “hideous and abusive” men.
“How low can you go, what kind of man are you?”
She said if the UNC’s detractors had political ambitions, “By sending those despicable low life, lochos to beat and abuse UNC women I warn you, you’ll not intimidate UNC women, they’ll fight for issues.”
“These abusive men, detractors are being sent deliberately by people whom the UNC membership rejected…these people have been out there, sending people, you think we don’t know, that we stupid and dotish like you?!”
“That you would stand up to cuss the UNC membership when you say you want to be Prime Minister? I hear a man say on TV he want to be Prime Minister, but in the same breath he’s calling the UNC membership sycophants!”
She continued, “You want sycophants to support you – are you for real?! Be kind, work with people and build together to get people to support you…you have to support your party, you, you say you support country before party – well go to hell!”
Go to hell, because if you cannot be loyal to your party, how you going to be loyal to your country?!’
Persad-Bissessar said she was telling these persons she’d purged the UNC of people who believed in caste, class and family connections, segregation, discrimination, dynasty politics.
“Forget this dynasty thing, forget because your father was an MP. You have to be an MP!”
She repeated the call for people to come back and “Push the children of the UNC rank and file into leadership positions. However, some selfish people want to destroy the children of rank and file members because they come from different backgrounds.”
“Because you believe your father was an MP, you must be an MP...it don’t work like that, Vasant! It don’t work like that! So stop washing your mouth on the rank and file of our great party!”
Persad-Bissessar warned those who were “rejected by the rank and file in their attempt to lead” that there won’t be any caste/class systems, segregation, discrimination or family dynasty once she was leader.
She told detractors to put aside selfishness and pride and return to help push the next generation of UNC leaders. She said they had to repay the debt owed to that generation’s parents who’d supported them. If people chose to be selfish and hateful to the rank and file who’d supported them before to get high positions, she said they should get their own permission to march.
“I call on TTPS do your job. So when these hooligans, lochos and stalkers come and they don’t have permission – get thee behind me!”
She said the recent Cabinet reshuffle was a pack of jokers being reshuffled. Persad-Bissessar said something had to “really, really wrong” for Al-Rawi to have been removed. She said the reshuffle occurred on the same date seven years ago when she’d called for him to go.
Dubbing him him “Faris Al Bully” for his impasse with Chief Parliamentary Counsel Ian MacIntyre she cited nine bills he brought which she said was bad law. She said ex-AG Anand Ramlogan is before the Privy Council arguing a matter which could strike down those laws.
