The Unit­ed Na­tion­al Con­gress has an­nounced Mr. Khem­raj Sunil Seecha­ran as the UNC Can­di­date in the Debe South bye-elec­tion. De­tails fol­low in this press re­lease from the UNC:

 

The Unit­ed Na­tion­al Con­gress is pleased to an­nounce the se­lec­tion by the Screen­ing Com­mit­tee and con­fir­ma­tion by the Na­tion­al Ex­ec­u­tive of Mr. Khem­raj Sunil Seecha­ran as the UNC Can­di­date in the Debe South bye-elec­tion to be held on 7 Feb­ru­ary 2022.

Mr. Seecha­ran was born and raised in Debe South. He is an en­ter­pris­ing and de­ter­mined young man with a pas­sion for peo­ple, com­mu­ni­ty and cul­ture, com­ing from a fam­i­ly that was al­ways in­volved in com­mu­ni­ty build­ing and de­vel­op­ment.

He was the found­ing Chair­man of the Pe­nal Debe Foun­da­tion - a na­tion­al­ly recog­nised NGO ad­vo­cat­ing for Dis­as­ter Mit­i­ga­tion and cham­pi­oning dis­as­ter and com­mu­ni­ty re­lief. Khem­raj’s mantra is "To­geth­er We Can."

Mr. Seecha­ran is com­mit­ted to pro­vid­ing the burgess­es of Debe South with prop­er rep­re­sen­ta­tion to those burgess­es who have been de­nied rep­re­sen­ta­tion by this dic­ta­to­r­i­al PNM gov­ern­ment for al­most one full year, fol­low­ing the death of Mr Pur­shot­tam Singh. Mr. Seecha­ran recog­nis­es the con­tri­bu­tions of late coun­cil­lor Singh and will con­tin­ue the good work start­ed un­der his tenure.

The UNC stands ready and pre­pared for this bye-elec­tion.
