A Mor­vant fa­ther of three girls, who was re­port­ed­ly shot by two male rel­a­tives ear­ly Sat­ur­day, has died.

The pass­ing of Noel Fer­min, 47, of Mon Re­pos Road, Mor­vant, took the mur­der count to 509 for the year thus far.

He was al­leged­ly shot by the sus­pects around 1.30 am at Hill­side Road, Mon Re­pos Road, Mor­vant.

Fer­min was ward­ed at hos­pi­tal for two days in a crit­i­cal con­di­tion be­fore he died.

Of­fi­cers were alert­ed about the shoot­ing on Sat­ur­day and ar­rived to find Fer­min ly­ing on the ground with his hands and feet tied. He had al­so been shot sev­er­al times.

As of­fi­cers took the in­jured man to the hos­pi­tal, he told them two male rel­a­tives had threat­ened to kill him the night be­fore. He al­so dis­closed that the men re­turned around 1.15 am on Sat­ur­day armed with firearms and robbed him of two tele­vi­sions be­fore forc­ing him in­to a car. They then drove him to Hill­side Road where they dragged him out and placed him to kneel in the mid­dle of road be­fore shoot­ing him. The sus­pects lat­er drove off, leav­ing Fer­min to die.

Rel­a­tives yes­ter­day de­scribed the trades­man as, “the life of the par­ty...liked to lime, liked to drink and liked to have a good time.”

Speak­ing at the Foren­sic Sci­ence Cen­tre in St James yes­ter­day, one of his rel­a­tives said they had no knowl­edge of whether he had been threat­ened by any­one be­fore the shoot­ing on the week­end.

Asked how she felt about the crime sit­u­a­tion, which had now snatched her loved one, she re­spond­ed im­me­di­ate­ly, “It out of con­trol.”

Asked if she felt the po­lice were do­ing enough, she said, “It ain’t even look like they get­ting any­thing done. In my view, it doesn’t look like they solv­ing much of the in­ci­dents...from the time you turn left, is death...you turn right, is death. Is like so much. I don’t even know if the po­lice could pick up.”

A male rel­a­tive chimed in, “You not even see­ing the po­lice.”

How­ev­er, the woman hur­ried­ly de­fend­ed the law­men. “I can’t say, the po­lice and them must be do­ing their job. It is just too much, but be­fore be­ing a po­lice...they are al­so hu­man be­ings, they prob­a­bly do­ing the best they can.” She added, “Is like the crim­i­nals and them take over.”
