A La Hor­quet­ta teenag­er had to be hos­pi­talised on Fri­day night af­ter be­ing shot mul­ti­ple times in both legs as he lay asleep on a couch.

The 14-year-old of Phase 2, La Hor­quet­ta – was re­port­ed­ly asleep on the couch which is close to the front door of the liv­ing room, when around 11.30 pm on Oc­to­ber 3, a vol­ley of gun­shots were heard.

Up­on check­ing, the vic­tim’s aunt found him bleed­ing from mul­ti­ple wounds and alert­ed his par­ents who rushed him to the Ari­ma Health Fa­cil­i­ty.

Of­fi­cers re­cov­ered 16 spent shell cas­ings on the road in front of the vic­tim’s house, which con­sist­ed of a va­ri­ety of 9 mm and 40 cal­i­bre am­mu­ni­tion.

The vic­tim was treat­ed for in­juries to the left low­er leg and right up­per leg, be­fore be­ing ward­ed in a sta­ble con­di­tion.
