A 58-year-old labour­er died af­ter re­port­ed­ly falling from scaf­fold­ing while paint­ing at an at­tor­ney’s home in Gas­par­il­lo on Sat­ur­day.

The man was iden­ti­fied as Patrick Bu­dree of En­ter­prise Street, Ch­agua­nas. Ac­cord­ing to a po­lice re­port, Bu­dree and an­oth­er work­er were at the home on Par­force Road at about 9.45 am.

Bu­dree was sit­ting on the left side of a wood­en scaf­fold­ing plank, about eight feet above the ground in­side a shed, when he asked the oth­er work­er to hand him a pan of paint.

The work­er said he heard a loud noise and turned to see Bu­dree ly­ing on his back at the base of the scaf­fold­ing.

Bu­dree was tak­en to San Fer­nan­do Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal and ad­mit­ted to the In­ten­sive Care Unit. He lat­er died.

Po­lice are treat­ing the in­ci­dent as an ac­ci­dent while in­ves­ti­ga­tions con­tin­ue.
