A 30-year-old labourer was shot and killed while lying on his bed at home in Gasparillo early this morning.
Rennico Khan, who worked with the San Fernando City Corporation, was asleep in the living room of his Barran Avenue, Lumsden Street home when a gunman entered and opened fire around 3 am.
Police said Khan lived with his 54-year-old aunt and 35-year-old cousin. His aunt told investigators she was jolted awake by gunfire and heard the assailant shout, “Doh f...king move,” before more shots rang out. The shooter then escaped through a front window.
Khan was found bleeding from gunshot wounds to his head and shoulder. His aunt tried to wake him but got no response. He died at the scene.
Crime scene investigators found 12 spent 9mm shells on the floor.
