A Long­denville man re­mained hos­pi­talised in a sta­ble con­di­tion yes­ter­day, af­ter he was stabbed in the neck by a close fe­male rel­a­tive dur­ing a heat­ed ar­gu­ment on Mon­day night.

Po­lice said the 27-year-old labour­er, of Palmiste, Long­denville, got in­to an ar­gu­ment with the woman around 10 pm.

Po­lice were told that as the ar­gu­mentesca­lat­ed, the woman picked up a sharp ob­ject and stabbed the man once in the left side of his neck.

The vic­tim re­port­ed­ly ran out of the house, got in­to his car and drove to the Ch­agua­nas Health Fa­cil­i­ty, where he was at­tend­ed to be­fore be­ing trans­ferred to the Er­ic Williams Med­ical Sci­ences Cen­tre in Mt Hope.

The man was treat­ed for a lac­er­a­tion to the neck and bleed­ing in his lungs. He re­mains in the hos­pi­tal in sta­ble con­di­tion.
