Gov­ern­ment Sen­a­tor Lau­rel Leza­ma-Lee Sing has re­signed.

The de­vel­op­ment fol­lows re­ports that an In­ter­im Pro­tec­tion Or­der was grant­ed against her af­ter it was filed by her hus­band Daren Lee Sing.

In a post to the Of­fice of the Prime Min­is­ter Face­book page, it said, “On Wednes­day, Sep­tem­ber 25th, 2024 con­se­quent up­on the res­ig­na­tion of Sen­a­tor Lau­rel Leza­ma-Lee Sing, the Pres­i­dent, Her Ex­cel­len­cy Chris­tine Kan­ga­loo ORTT, on the ad­vice of Prime Min­is­ter Dr the Hon Kei­th Row­ley, ap­point­ed Mr An­cil Den­nis as a Gov­ern­ment Sen­a­tor. 

Den­nis is a for­mer Chief Sec­re­tary of the To­ba­go House of As­sem­bly (THA).
